Love on Your Terms: Interracial Dating with Disha Mistry Mazepa

In our very first interview, we talk with Disha Mistry Mazepa of the But What Will People Say podcast about self confidence, living and loving our lives on our own terms and the role that financial independence plays in being able to do so.

Disha’s podcast started as one about interracial, interfaith and intercultural marriage / relationships. Over time, it has expaneded to include discussions about other topics that fall under the “log kya kahenge” mentality such as LGBTQ relationships, divorce, mental health, sexual assault, skin care, nutrition, disabilities, and more. Her own personal story is the inspiration for her podcast, as her relationship with her husband was kept a secret for years from her family out of fear of being disowned and the downright negative reactions she expected to receive from the SA community, especially her parents. She hopes that by sharing not just her story, but the stories of other men and women who have chosen to date outside of their own cultures, she will help provide a sense of hope and empowerment for those listening and also a chance for her guests to feel heard.

Disha’s confidence and conviction to live her life on her terms and inspire others to do the same is inspiring. Tune in for a great interview!
